Tablets

Tablets come in many different brands, but quality does matter. You can get a el cheapo tablet and it will work, but this is your cash register at a water district, I advise getting a decent one. The most basic I would even consider is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 for about $120 on Amazon. Me personally, I would buy the $300 to $500 model as you can get better quality, bigger screen and more RAM.

You can use your tablet for connecting to your Command Link and activating meters. You can visit the RNI and Sensus Analytics if you have an AMI tower read FlexNet system. You can use it with the new FlexRead drive by system. Tablets and Phones will become two of your most important devices in the field these days. Once the 520R is all gone, no more old Handhelds.

You need Android Version 13 or better. This is very important.

I also advise having cellular service on the tablet. Having data can and will save you some issues. This is the way of the future and it will help make your reading and system better.
The iPad... Yes the iPad will work if you have IOS Version 18 or later but the IOS seems to be less important to future progress.

You can NOT connect a Command Link CL100 to the iPad. It will not work.

You CAN connect a Command Link CL200 to the iPad. It will work.

FlexRead will not work with the IOS system. I would go get one of the Samsung Galaxy.

There are so many reasons to have cellular connection on your tablet. Once your utility is on FlexRead, the reads that you get will show up in the cloud and back at the office in real time. No more lost readings in AutoVu!

The office can load a new route into the cloud, it will sync with your tablet almost instantly if you are online, you do not have to be at the office anymore to load, it will sync from the cloud.

You can data log in the field and email results back to the office in real time.

You will need internet for the mapping in FieldLogic Hub for the FlexRead program.
